Today Elena Vyalbe, President of the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Federation, received her Master's degree with honors from the hands of Rafis Burganov, Rector of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The awarding took place at a meeting with students and teachers of the sports university of Tatarstan.
Presenting the diploma, the rector of the university noted that Elena Vyalbe is a symbol of Soviet skiing, as well as a model of perseverance and labor.
Fourteen-time world champion, three-time Olympic champion Elena Vyalbe is not only the president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation and the head coach of the national team, but also an associate professor at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Skiing at the Volga Region University of Sport. But she decided to study further and today she noted that she has never regretted her decision.
- It's never too late to study. The university has a wonderful staff. It is a great pride for me to be a part of the Volga Region University. Now I am a qualified coach and for all this I am immensely grateful,” said the Soviet and Russian skier.
Also present at the meeting was Ilshat Fardiev, President of the Cross-Country Skiing Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan and head of the Network Company.
