Alexey Pashin, Deputy Director of the Center for Social and Cultural Adaptation of Foreign Citizens, gave a lecture for international students at Volga Region University. The lecture was part of the adaptation course offered by the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs of Russia.
The students gained a more detailed understanding of the fundamentals of Russian legislation, culture, and social etiquette. The knowledge they gained during the course will help them quickly and comfortably adapt to their new country.
At the beginning of the lecture, Alexey Pashin focused on migration registration. He emphasized the need for timely migration registration and noted that for foreign citizens to legally reside in Russia, it is essential to obtain health insurance, undergo an annual medical examination, and have their fingerprints taken. The students also learned about the benefits of obtaining a temporary residence permit for educational purposes.
Diana Galliamova, Head of the Department of Social and Educational Work, and Guzalya Garaeva, staff members, and the Head of the International Cooperation Department, also attended the event. They help international students adapt both to Volga Region University and to their new country.
"You've come to Russia and will certainly find friends here, but your closest friend is the International Cooperation Office at Volga Region University. Therefore, with any questions or problems, please contact their staff first; they will provide you with expert assistance and support. I've known your International Cooperation Office for quite some time, and I believe it employs qualified specialists, so don't be afraid to contact them with any questions," Alexey Pashin advised the students.
At the end of the lecture, Yulia Tokranova, Director of the Center for Social and Psychological Monitoring of Deviations, spoke to international students about the rules of conduct at Volga Region University and the Universiade Village dormitory.
