Associate Professors of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics Alfiya Motigullina and Aliya Garipova took part in the International Scientific Forum ‘Languages, Literature and Culture of the Peoples of Russia in Modern Academic Science’. The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Galimjan Ibragimov Institute of Language, Literature and Art. Representatives of Povolzhsky University made presentations on ‘Modern Problems in the Study of Tatar Language, Literature and History’ and ‘Language, Culture and Learning: Modern Research Paradigms’.

‘I take part in many scientific and practical conferences - I conduct research in the field of history and modern Tatar literature, folklore, journalism, and methods of teaching Tatar language and literature. In addition to literary criticism, I also deal with problems of cultural studies. My path began with my dissertation research ‘Literature of the Peoples of the Russian Federation - Tatar Literature’. That is why I was happy to take part in the forum,’ shared Alfiya Motigullina.

It should be noted that the forum was attended by experts from Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and the opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, as well as representatives of the executive branch of Tatarstan - Deputy Prime Minister Leila Fazleeva and Minister of Education and Science Ilsur Khadiullin.

‘Participation in international events is not only a source of new knowledge and an opportunity to improve competences, but also a way to expand professional opportunities, find like-minded people and improve communication skills. The Forum became such a platform for sharing experience. Participants made topical presentations and raised global issues in panel discussions. The forum was also memorable for its high-quality linguistic content and a charge of positive emotions,’ said Aliya Garipova.
