Within the framework of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry", the Centre for the Development of Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry was established at Povolzhsky University. The Centre's activity is aimed at forming teams capable of developing tourist territories and acting in a unified information and target field.

Within the framework of this concept the Volga Region University has developed a professional retraining programme - "Management of tourist territories development: project approach". The opening of the course took place on 25 August in the Volga University Academic Council Hall. 
After completing the training, the teams should be able to prepare terms of reference for the development of a master plan and a concept for the development of a tourist territory, as well as to form working groups in the relevant areas.

Speakers of the in-person session of the course will be Anna Gurinchuk, an expert of regional and federal professional competitions, manager of the competence "Tour Operator Activity", Maxim Sharipov, General Director of the Special Economic Zone "Baikalskaya Gavan", and Adelia Pavlova, a member of the Guild of Russian Marketers, Doctor of Economics, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Digital Transformation of Volga region University.

"We are very pleased that it was possible to open the Centre for the Development of Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry on the basis of the Volga University, as everyone knows the professionalism of the teaching staff of this university," Anastasia Sofyina, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on Tourism, addressed the audience.

"We have six interesting modules ahead of us, which will provide important competences for the development of new tourist territories," added Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, via video link. - I am sure that the experience that is already available in our country will become a useful tool for the trainees in the process of formation and development of new routes and territories".
