Today, the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism took over the baton of bachelor's and master's degree graduations at the Volga University. 121 young specialists received diplomas of completion of their studies.
The celebration was opened by the rector of the university, Rafis Burganov, and the chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, Sergei Ivanov. By the way, he is also a university teacher.
“From your very first day at the university, we, using all the latest technologies and experience, both Russian and international, passed on professional knowledge to you,” emphasized Rafis Burganov. – I would like to wish you not to lose touch with your native university as you embark on a new path. Good luck to you in your profession and personal life. Be patriots of your Motherland - wherever you are in the world, always remember which country you are citizens of and protect its interests.
In turn, Sergei Ivanov noted that the Committee is looking forward to welcoming young specialists to the workplaces of the Republic of Tatarstan.
"Our industry is vast, with many different companies, and we need you everywhere. Human resources are our key strength. Under the leadership of Rais of the Republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, tourism in Tatarstan is developing particularly rapidly. Overall, Russia faces a major challenge: developing tourism in every corner of our vast country, creating infrastructure and interesting routes.
Therefore, Tatarstan and throughout Russia need qualified specialists with ideas and energy. And I would like to point out that Volga Region University truly offers the highest level of education in tourism," said Sergey Ivanov.
Sergey Druzhkov, Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, delivered a warm farewell speech to the graduates, urging them to cherish what he considers the most important pillars in life: faith in people, faith in oneself, and good memories, which will help them achieve their goals. The department heads also shared their best wishes.
– Student life is a time of dreams and first steps into adulthood, but for us, each graduation is a piece of soul and heart that we entrust to the profession. The years of our journey together flew by in a flash, but during this time we became not just colleagues - we became friends like a family.
We believe that it is you, our graduates, who will strengthen the tourism and hospitality industry with your professionalism, fresh knowledge and unquenchable energy. We are always glad to see you at the university and college as teachers, because new generations are thirsty for knowledge,” said Maria Vesloguzova, head of the department of service and tourism.
For his part, Acting Head of the Department of Sports Economics and Management, Marsel Miftakhov, expressed pride in the graduates, who, even during their student years, distinguished themselves in scientific, cultural, and creative fields, made a name for themselves, and earned the respect of their colleagues. Now they can confidently move forward.
The graduates themselves also took part – they actively delivered speeches of thanks to the university administration and faculty for their guidance and faith in the students.
"Thanks to you, today we receive our long-awaited higher education diplomas. Some will continue their studies in master's programs, some in doctoral programs, some in professional work, and some, like me, will combine graduate school and a career. Thank you!" said Marina Evseeva, a graduate of the master's program, expressing her deep gratitude to the faculty on behalf of the student body.
