Volga Region University held a preventative meeting with first-year undergraduate and college students on safety, health, and fraud prevention. The event was organized by the university's Department of Social and Educational Work.

The meeting's guest, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Popov, head of the district police service at Gorki Police Department No. 8, spoke to the students about the types of illegal activities most frequently committed by young people, emphasizing that each of these activities entails penalties ranging from administrative to criminal. He emphasized the importance of preserving their reputation and freedom. The students also learned more about fraud and theft schemes using telecommunications technology and basic safety rules to help protect personal data and funds.

University staff also addressed the first-year students. Dmitry Sosnin, Head of the Department of Civil Defense and Emergencies, Mobilization Work, and Anti-Terrorism Security, emphasized that Volga Region University has a strict anti-terrorism security regime in place. Security measures such as access control, prohibition of unauthorized transfers, and a ban on the dissemination of extremist information are constantly in place at the university's academic and laboratory building, dormitory, and sports facilities.

At the end of the meeting, Leading Fire Safety Specialist Roza Mullagalieva reminded students living in the dormitory of strict fire safety regulations. She noted that all rooms in the Universiade Village dormitory are equipped with fire alarms, which residents are required to keep secure. If an alarm is triggered, residents are required to leave the premises immediately and never ignore the alarm.
