On the first of September in the concert hall of the Volga Region University was held the installation conference "Results of activities and tasks for the 2023-2024 academic year", the participants of which were the teaching staff, university management and invited guests.

"Our main goal, as before, is the quality training of personnel. That is why we have built an educational vertical - an ecosystem that starts with training athletes in the Integrated Sports School, continues in the college of Volga Region University, and then - higher education and a career in science, education or sports, - Rector Rafis Burganov noted in his speech. - Our university is strong with its knowledge and traditions, the experience of the past allows us to shape the future. Next year the university will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, and all these years the priority for us remains quality education, as well as scientific, educational, creative and sports work with our students, for which all conditions are created".

Last academic year Volga Region University graduated 618 bachelors, 186 masters and 4 postgraduates. At the beginning of the new academic year the university has 4098 students from 78 subjects of Russia and 16 foreign countries.
Also, for the first time, the college opened its doors at the university, where the competition for a place on the Physical Education programme was immediately formed by 9.5 people.

"Volga Region University has an excellent and professional team," said Ranko Tepavcevic, Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects. - We have been co-operating with many of them for ten years already. I am very grateful for the continuous and effective co-operation with Povolzhsky University, during which we are adapting to the world situation. There are still many international competitions ahead, during which we will again work together fruitfully".

Rinat Sadykov, Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, was also a guest of the conference. He spoke about the activities of his department, outlined the points of current and possible co-operation, and invited to participate in projects.

Within the framework of the National Project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry", the Centre for the Development of Human Resources Potential of the Tourism Industry was established within the structure of the Institute of Further Education of the Volga Region University. On 25 August, teams from the Samara Region, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Tatarstan started training.

Volga Region University continues to develop continuously in the research, educational, creative fields, not forgetting about international partnerships and the sports component. Next year, the university is waiting for large-scale international competitions: the high-tech tournament of the international level "Games of the Future", as well as the sports games of the BRICS countries in 25 sports. Most of these competitions will be held at the facilities of the Volga University.
