Since 22 May, the P.F. Lesgaft National University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health in St. Petersburg has become the venue for one of the country's largest student events - the XXVI All-Russian Festival of Physical Culture Students with International Participation. The event takes place at the Kavgolovo training centre.
The sports forum is an annual event that brings together representatives of higher education institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. This year, representatives of fourteen Russian sports universities and the Republic of Belarus will take part in it. Traditionally, the team of the Volga Region State University of Sports and Tourism is among participants.
The Tatarstan delegation includes Rafis Burganov, rector of the university, Alexander Mironov, head of the sports department, Lyubov Botova, head of the gymnastics theory and methodology department, and a team of seventeen students who will compete in physical fitness competitions, a science report competition and a sports hit parade. The festival will continue until 25 May.
