On the final day of the election, Lenar Galiev, Chairman of the VI Student Council of the University, was the first to speak.
"There is no word for 'back' in Tatar. Turn around and go," he summed up the report on the work done by the outgoing staff. Dozens of events, hundreds of volunteers, thousands of photos depicting vibrant student life. All of this is only the visible and not the biggest part of the activists' work.
"Your term was difficult: first, it was a period of self-isolation, then a difficult political situation," Natalia Greciannikova, Vice-Rector for Administration, Social Development and Youth Policy, said thanking the student leaders. - But you and I have managed to preserve the most important thing - unity.
The first intrigue of the election was who will be the head of the Student Media Centre. Four people put forward their candidacies: Arina Malysheva, Amalia Ryazanskaya, Alexey Kulikov and Yegor Danilov.
All candidates voiced their readiness to take student media to the next level. Questions from the audience did not embarrass the activists, all answered confidently, but voters leaned towards the slightly more experienced Alexey. "I will work without sparing myself and together with activists, interact with the press office and listen to the leadership," he promised in his election speech.
The top three candidates for the partnership manager post also showed a desire to seriously develop their line of work. Voters voted for Polina Kuzmina. Her competitors, Aydar Hasanov and Karina Eisler, were convincing, but Polina was able to demonstrate expertise in working with partners in her speech and answers to questions.
Vladimir Gorshkov, the only candidate for the position of Volunteer Club leader, noted in his speech that volunteering should come from the heart. He cited stress tolerance and experience of working at national events as his main strengths.
The university's creative club was headed by Vsevolod Aleksandrov. His rival, Karina Nabiullina, noted her willingness to work in a team, but most voters saw Vsevolod as the leader. Initially the ex-creative manager of the dormitory student council had planned to run for the position of chairman, but decided to yield to his friend Lenar Galiev, the current leader of our student body.
A serious intrigue was who would become the secretary of the student council. The choice was between three candidates: Victoria Kalinina, Tatiana Potekhina and Elizaveta Maltseva. A desire to provide comfort for students helped to take away the majority of Viktoria's votes.
It is not hard to see that many of the candidates were united by a desire to improve the level of student activism. The candidate for the position of chairman, Lenar Galiev, brought out this theme in a more concrete way. He identified winning the Student of the Year Award of the Republic of Tatarstan as his main goal. By the majority of votes Lenar was re-elected as the Chairman of the University Student Council.
Without constant growth it will be impossible to achieve the declared goals, that's why for the new student council, as it was said at the beginning, there is no word "backwards". Only forward.
Only alga!
