Today, Ilsur Khadiullin, Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan, assessed the capabilities of the human functional state assessment laboratory at the Volga Region University Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Rafis Burganov, Rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, acquainted the Minister of Education and Science with the work of the unique medical centre.
The laboratory was founded by the Volga Region University together with the Kazan Open University of Talent in 2021. The laboratory provides scientific-methodological and medical-biological support for young athletes of the republic who participate in specialised programmes titled Champion's Path in Sports at the Republican Centre for Gifted Children and the Sirius Educational Centre.
At the same time, regular medical and biological examinations and functional support of athletes of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russian Federation national teams, as well as sports schools of Kazan are provided within the framework of optimisation and sports selection of young athletes through genetic testing and hardware and software complex Become a Champion.
The results of such research helps coaches to select athletes, monitor their general and special preparation, make adjustments in training process for further results improvement, and monitor their performance in dynamics.
The list of tests is long: it includes determination of body composition, physical performance and training level as well as genetic diagnostics of endurance.
Through these tests, sports physicians and physiologists can determine young athletes' performance levels, their adaptation to different loads, and the response of the cardiovascular system to maximal loads.
These tests not only help to identify athletes' potential, but also monitor their functional status and detect early signs of overtraining and chronic overexertion.
