The most important start for university rowing - the finals of the summer season 2021/22 of the Student Rowing League - was held at the Rowing Centre, one of the facilities of the Volga University of Sport and Tourism. A total of 33 teams took part. This year, for the first time ever, the finals were contested by teams of small boat classes - single, double and quadruple with double and winged oars. The students of Volga Region University once again became champions not only in the finals of the Rowing League but of the season as a whole.
In the men's final, held the day before, the KAZAN DRAGONS rowing team of the Volga Region University emerged victorious. Their proper tactical preparation helped the students to beat the ITMO National Research University team by half a length. Rafis Burganov, Rector of the University of Sports and Tourism, made a welcoming speech at the closing ceremony. The winners received their awards from his hands.
