Men's and women's teams of the Volga region Academy of streetball successfully performed in Moscow in the super Final of the 3x3 championship Of the Association of student basketball (ASB).  Both of our teams became the silver medalists of the tournament. There were no "academicians" without personal awards: Diana Popova was recognized as the best forward of the tournament, and Ilya Lednev – the best defender.
The winners of the regional stages took part in the super Final of the ACB basketball championship 3X3. Men's and women's teams of the Volga region Academy confidently won the June tournament "Heat in Kazan" and won a ticket to the super Final, which was held in Moscow, at the legendary streetball site "Riga".
Recall that the women's team of the Academy went to the super Final in the rank of the winner of the previous championship. Our girls on the rights of Champions of ASB 3X3 this summer represented Russia at the European student games in Portugal. Alas, to protect a title of Champions of ASB it wasn't possible. In the final, the updated and noticeably rejuvenated team of Nataliya Kuleshova (Diana Popova, Dariya Arkhangelskaya, Ekaterina Kaplina and Taisia Afanasyeva) lost to St. Petersburg students from the Russian Academy of national economy and civil service in overtime (11:13). Nevertheless, the second consecutive finals of the championship is an indicator of the successful work of trainers-teachers of the Volga region Academy in a constant and absolutely natural for any University personnel rotation.
"Academicians" - men under the leadership of Olesya Matvienko also reached the final of the tournament, in which they lost to the team of the St. Petersburg University of industrial technologies (12:15). But for our men's team (Konstantin Faskhutdinov, Ilya Kuzmichev, Andrey Pashihin, Ivan Ananiev) the current exit in the ending became the first in history, but because the silver can be viewed as a positive step to the future victories.
