Foreign applicants do not take the Unified State Examination, but pass internal university entrance exams. Exam information is here.
- All exams are taken in Russian. Exams are mandatory, a certificate of completion of Russian language courses is not a sufficient document.
Before enrolment
Русский язык является обязательным испытанием, вне зависимости от специальности или направления подготовки.
The Russian language is a compulsory test, regardless of specialty or direction of training.
- After arrival in Kazan on the first day of accommodation at the place of stay, notify the International Cooperation Department of the university about your arrival, submit your passport, migration card, health insurance policy to the International Cooperation Department no later than the next working day to be registered for migration.
- Notify the international department of the university about the planned short-term or long-term change of place of stay in the following cases:
- Travelling outside the city and country of study for any period of time
- Staying in medical institutions (hospitals, etc.) for a day or more
- Travel to training camps, excursions and other events; stay in hotels, hostels, campsites, training camps (including the hotel of the Rowing Centre and the Gymnastics Centre) for any period of time
- Change of place of permanent residence
Notify the International Department about all the specified cases of relocation at the planning stage and on the first day of return. To report to the International Department of the university with a set of documents specified in p. 1 of this guide.
- If it is necessary to register for migration, within 7 days after submitting documents, obtain from the International Cooperation Department the detachable part of the arrival notice with a stamp confirming migration registration. Pay attention to the registration period indicated in the notice of migration registration. No later than 40 working days before the end of the registration period, contact the international department of the university to extend it.
- A short-term entry visa is usually valid for 3 months. No later than 45 working days, inform the International Cooperation Department about the expiration of the visa, submit your passport, migration card, 2 photos 3x4 cm (color, on matte paper, without corners) to the International Cooperation Department to issue a long-term visa.
- The period for obtaining a long-term visa from the date of submission of documents is at least 30 working days. Within 3 days after receiving a long-term visa, receive from the International Cooperation Department the detachable part of the arrival notice with a stamp - confirmation of the extension of migration registration for the duration of the visa. Pay special attention to the validity period of a long-term visa. At least 40 working days before the expiration date of the visa, contact the international department of the university to extend it.
- Control the validity period of the passport used to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. Replace the passport at least six months before the expiry of the visa. Notify the International Department in advance about the procedure of passport replacement for visa replacement and re-registration.
- In accordance with Federal Law FZ-115 "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation", employment of a full-time foreign student without a work permit is possible only in the university where he/she is studying during the entire period of study and in other institutions during holidays. Employment in other institutions during the study period is possible only with a work permit, which must be issued by the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and submitted to the international department of the university.

Обратите внимание, что все документы должны быть представлены на русском языке. Если документ вообще не содержит информацию на русском языке, необходим нотариально заверенный перевод документа на русский язык, который можно сделать в любой стране. Если в документе есть информация на русском языке, тогда перевод делать не нужно.
1. Заявление
Заявление необходимо распечатать, заполнить, отсканировать и выслать скан. Графа СНИЛС (страховой номер индивидуального лицевого счёта) в заявлении заполняется только при наличии СНИЛС. Если СНИЛС отсутствует, то ничего указывать не нужно.
2. Cогласие на обработку персональных данных
Согласие необходимо распечатать, заполнить, отсканировать и выслать скан.
3. Скан паспорта (всех заполненных страниц)
4. Скан документа о предыдущем образовании.
- Для бакалавриата – скан школьного аттестата о полном среднем образовании или скан диплома профессионального колледжа или училища.
- Для магистратуры – скан диплома бакалавра с приложением с оценками.
5. Скан медицинской справки, соответствующей стандарту российской формы 086
Если в вашем государстве такую форму не предоставляют, тогда нужен скан формы прохождения медицинского осмотра, соответствующей государственным требованиям в вашей стране. Медицинский осмотр можно проходить в любой стране.
6. Сканы документов, подтверждающих индивидуальные достижения абитуриентов – например, документы, подтверждающие спортивный разряд абитуриента, грамоты за спортивные и иные достижения.
7. Для юношей: Скан удостоверения гражданина, подлежащего призыву на военную службу или военный билет
8. Для соотечественников, поступающих на бюджетную форму обучения: скан свидетельства о рождении абитуриента и скан свидетельств о рождении родителей (либо одного из родителей)
Для абитуриентов из стран, с которыми у Российской Федерации нет договора об автоматическом признании документов об образовании, может потребоваться прохождение процедуры признания документа о предыдущем образовании. О необходимости прохождения данной процедуры и ее особенностях Отдел международного сотрудничества сообщит в индивидуальном порядке после рассмотрения представленных абитуриентом документов.

Documents for admission
Please note that all documents must be submitted in Russian. If the document does not contain information in Russian at all, a notarized translation of the document into Russian is required, which can be done in any country. If the document contains information in Russian, then translation is not necessary.
1. Application form:
The application form must be printed, filled out, scanned and sent to International Cooperation Department’s email. The SNILS column (insurance number of an individual personal account) in the application is filled out only if SNILS is available. If SNILS is absent, then nothing needs to be indicated.
2. Form of consent to the processing of personal data
Consent must be printed, filled out, scanned and sent to International Cooperation Department’s email.
3. Scan of passport or ID (all completed pages)
4. Scan of the document on previous education.
For a bachelor's degree - a scan of a school certificate of complete secondary education or a scan of a diploma from a vocational college or school.
For a master's degree - a scan of a bachelor's degree with an application with grades.
5. A scan of a medical certificate corresponding to the standard of the Russian form 086
If your state does not provide such a form, then you need a scan of the medical examination form that meets the state requirements in your country. Medical examination can be carried out in any country.
6. Scans of documents confirming the individual achievements of applicants - for example, documents confirming the sports category of the applicant, diplomas for sports and other achievements.
7. For men: A scan of a certificate confirming citizen’s conscription for military service or a military ID
8. For compatriots entering the budget form of education: a scan of the birth certificate of the applicant and a scan of the birth certificates of the parents (or one of the parents)
For applicants from countries with which the Russian Federation does not have an agreement on the automatic recognition of documents on education, it may be necessary to go through the procedure for recognising a document on previous education. The International Cooperation Department will inform you on the necessity of this procedure on an individual basis after reviewing the documents submitted by the applicant.

Admission results
After arrival in Kazan on the first day of accommodation at the place of stay, notify the International Cooperation Department of your arrival, submit your passport, migration card, health insurance policy to the International Cooperation Department no later than the next working day for migration registration.
Notify the International Co-operation Office of a planned short or long term change of residence in the following cases:
travelling outside the country of study for any period of time
staying in medical institutions (hospitals, etc.) for a day or more
travelling to training camps, excursions and other events
stay in hotels, hostels, camping sites, training camps (including the hotel of the rowing centre and gymnastics centre) for any period of time
change of place of permanent residence
notify the International Cooperation Department of all specified cases of displacement at the planning stage and on the first day of return. Report to the International Co-operation Department with a set of documents at the first request.
In case of necessity of migration registration within 7 days after submission of documents to receive in the International Cooperation Department the tear-off part of the notice of arrival with a stamp confirming the migration registration..
Pay attention to the registration period indicated in the notification on migration registration. At least 45 working days before the expiry of the registration period, apply to the International Cooperation Department for its extension.
Control the validity period of the passport used to enter the territory of the Russian Federation. Replace the passport at least six months before the expiry of the visa. Notify the International Cooperation Department in advance of the passport replacement procedure for visa replacement and re-registration.
State fingerprint registration, medical examination and photographing are mandatory procedures that all foreign citizens must undergo if they plan to stay in Russia for more than 90 days. This requirement is established by Federal Law No. 274-FZ dated 01.07.2021

Important: it is necessary to remember that any deviation from the above rules entails penalties from the Department of the Federal Migration Service of the Republic of Tatarstan with subsequent deportation.
PROHIBITED:
- Change your place of stay for any period of time without first notifying the international department.
- Be on the territory of the Russian Federation without registration and/or with expired registration. Remember that you must renew your registration 40 days before it expires.
- Stay on the territory of the Russian Federation with an expired visa. Remember that you must extend your visa 40-45 working days before it expires. A month before it ends, IT'S ALREADY LATE!
- Change documents (passport, migration card, registration slips) and status (obtaining a residence permit, temporary residence permit) without first notifying the international department. The passport must be replaced at least six months before its expiration date.
All nonresident students of the Volga Region University are accommodated in residential cluster “C” on the territory of the Universiade Village. These are 8 multi-storey residential buildings with a total area of 86 thousand square meters. m., with a total number of places - 3700, which were commissioned on September 1, 2011. Students will be provided with places in rooms designed for 3-4 people.
The Universiade Village is a completely new complex format for Russia, designed for students to live, study, work and have active recreation. The residential complex is located in the Volga district of Kazan and borders Sorge, Parina, Mavlyutov streets and Pobeda Avenue. The microdistrict is served by public transport - bus routes No. 47 and trolleybus No. 8. Travel time to the city center is 45 minutes.
Not far from the Universiade Village there is the Prospekt Pobedy metro station. Within walking distance from the Universiade Village there are sports facilities of the Volga Region Academy of Sports and Tourism - the Burevestnik swimming pool, the Zilant sports complex, the Tennis Academy, the Gymnastics Center, the Badminton Center, and the Educational and Laboratory Building.
The Universiade Village was conceived as a student town, which is currently the largest project of this level in Russia. Its occupancy began on August 30, 2010. Today, students from the Republic of Tatarstan, other regions of Russia, near and far abroad live here.
In the protected area of the Universiade Village there are rental points for sports equipment, sports grounds, cafes, anti-cafes, studios, beauty salons, supermarkets, post offices, and a printing point.

Together with representatives of higher education institutions, active social and educational work with students is carried out to create a high moral and ethical image of a Kazan student.
