On behalf of the Ministry of Sport of Russia and myself personally, I congratulate athletes, coaches, specialists and all fans of physical culture on the occasion of the Day of Physical Education Worker!
At present, sport and physical culture are one of the most significant factors in the social and economic development of the state. More than 430,000 people work in the sector. The professions of coaches and instructors are among the most in-demand and promising.
Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin notes: ‘We will pay special attention to mass sports. Our goal is to involve 70 per cent of Russian citizens, of all ages and health groups, in systematic sports activities by 2030’.
As part of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports in Russia, we have achieved a significant increase in these indicators, especially among children and young people.
Today, our athletes prove with their results at various competitions that Russia continues to be the world's leading sports power.
Please accept the words of deep gratitude for your daily fruitful labour, energy and dedication. Let's achieve our goals, new records and brilliant victories! I wish everyone faith, hope and love! After all, love for Russia and for sport is what unites us!
