Strengthening the relationship between the Volga Region Sports University and the State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Armenia was discussed today by university leaders Rafis Burganov and Tigran Simonyan via videoconference.

The meeting focused on developing a roadmap for scientific and educational cooperation, which will include official bilateral visits by delegations. The project also includes developing joint network educational programs for undergraduate and graduate programs, expanding academic mobility for faculty and students, conducting joint research and scientific conferences, strengthening ties between the universities' scientific journals, and organizing student sports team competitions.

"We met recently and agreed to hold a video conference. I hope we can continue to work productively together in the future," Rafis Burganov addressed the rector of the Armenian Sports Institute. "On the agenda is a draft roadmap, jointly prepared by our colleagues, covering key areas of work: education, science, and sports."

In turn, Tigran Simonyan also expressed his wishes for strengthening relations between universities.

"We are very pleased to collaborate with our Russian colleagues, particularly with Volga Region University. Despite everything, we must deepen and expand our joint work. I believe that we will soon be able to meet in person and conduct joint trips that will benefit our universities," he emphasized.

Also participating in the discussion from Volga Region University were First Vice-Rector Azat Sharapov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation Adelia Pavlova, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Andrey Nazarenko, and Advisor to the Rector, Professor Firuza Zotova of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports.

The Sports Institute of Armenia was represented by Vice-Rector for External Relations and Strategic Programming Angela Nushikyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Vardan Smbatyan, Vice-Rector for Research Tigran Petrosyan, and Head of the Department of Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Culture Elena Akopyan.

Following the videoconference, the university leaders planned to approve the roadmap and sign it in the near future. Furthermore, Rafis Burganov invited Tigran Simonyan and his colleagues to visit Kazan and experience its culture.
