The "Young Scientist" competition within the framework of the VI International Congress "Fundamental and Clinical Electrophysiology. Topical issues of modern medicine", dedicated to one of the founders of electrocardiography - Alexander Samoilov", was held recently in the Kazan Medical Academy.
The main goal of the Congress is the transfer of fundamental research into clinical practice, that is why the event is traditionally attended by both representatives of fundamental knowledge and clinicians. The topics of the congress cover a wide range of areas based on basic research in electrophysiology: interventional cardiology and arrhythmology, clinical neurophysiology, functional diagnostics, ultrasound investigation of the cardiovascular system, otolaryngology and others.
For Ekaterina Platoshkina, a first year postgraduate student of Volga Region University, the congress was an important milestone, both for the improvement of her scientific work and for the opportunity to present it to the professional community. Ekaterina took second place with her presentation on "The influence of time-varying breathing patterns on the time characteristics of cardio-intervals of gymnasts".
