Recently, a coaching council was held at the Complex Sports School of the Volga Region University, the first federally subordinated children's sports school in Kazan, created on the basis of the facilities of a sports university. The main topic for discussion was the results of a comprehensive medical examination of 160 pupils in the medical unit of the University's research institute.

“We are focused on identifying the functional capabilities of pupils, their fitness and studying indicators in dynamics,” summed up Gulnara Yanysheva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Medical Unit of the University Research Institute. - The examination program is built taking into account the detection of gross and dangerous pathologies, since it is important for us to see changes in physical development and the state of the musculoskeletal system. We always place special emphasis on the examination of the condition of the spine.”

During the survey, it was found that 70% of children have posture disorders. Most of the examined also revealed foci of residual tension in the trapezius muscles of the neck and shoulders. Coaches are recommended during the warm-up, and especially at the end of the workout, be sure to use stretching and muscle relaxation exercises.

Gulnara Gumerovna gave recommendations to the parents of the pupils on how to enrich the diet of children - what foods are rich in potassium and magnesium necessary for young athletes, because for a comprehensive health promotion, work must be done not only by coaches, but also by parents. Only in this way, together and jointly, it is possible to reduce the risks of complications in children caused by heavy loads in sports.
