At the last championship of Russia in artistic gymnastics, students of the Volga Region University were among the top 24 athletes of the country according to the results of the tournament.
The Russian Championship was held from 8 to 12 March at the Gymnastics Center and brought together more than 200 of the strongest gymnasts in Russia. The homely atmosphere and native walls helped the athletes of the university to achieve high results.
Bronze medals in the men's all-around were won by the team of the Republic of Tatarstan, which included university and tourism students. The girls finished ninth. In the finals in certain types of all-around, our athletes received the following results: Nikita Andronov became the second on horseback and 16th in the all-around finals, Stanislav Isaev - 20th. Elena Gerasimova took 3rd place on beam and 6th on uneven bars. Yulia Nikolaeva became a finalist in floor exercises and sixth in the vault. In the all-around final, Elena and Yulia took fifth and tenth places, respectively, among the strongest gymnasts in the country.
The next stage for the top 24 athletes will be the Russian Cup 2023.
