The second stage of the winter season of the Student Rowing League was held at the Rowing Centre from 17 to 18 December.
The MATCH TV channel visited the competition and tried their hand at rowing not only on the rowing ergometer, but also in the rowing pool. Vladimir Gogolin, Merited Coach of the RSFSR and Andrey Feoktistov, Director of the Rowing Centre, conducted the briefing. The reporters were given an opportunity to feel themselves in the shoes of our students: to compete in the distance of 250 metres.
Not only journalists, but also applicants and students of other specialisations participated in the event. One of them, Bagheri Kurosh, a first-year student of the fitness discipline, came from Iran and was very excited to try his hand at a new sport:
"I love sport in all its directions, and when the coach of the university team - Mikhail Gorbunov - suggested I attend training sessions, I agreed with great interest. Most of all I liked the four-kilometre distance".
The competition took place over four kilometres, 250 metres and the 4x250m relay.
