The Russian Badminton Championship among persons with disabilities was held at one of the facilities of the Volga Region University – in the Badminton Center. More than 100 athletes took part in the competition. Participants from 20 regions of the country competed for medals in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Pavel Kulikov, a student of the Institute of Sports, performing "standing", became the absolute champion of the competition. The athlete took the first places in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

Currently, para-badminton competitions are held in six disability sports classes – WH1 and WH2 – wheelchair athletes, SL3, SL4, SU5 - standing athletes, SS6 – athletes with small stature.16:24
