According to the results of the Conference of the International Association of Universities of Physical Culture and Sport on 18.05.2012 it was decided to publish a scientific and practical journal of the Association. The journal should become a platform for sharing the results of scientific research, as well as for the development of leading scientists of universities-members of the International Association at the international level and increasing the citation of their scientific works. The publication of this journal is entrusted to the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The journal "Science and Sport: Current Trends" is published 4 times a year in Russian and English.

Scientific and practical journal "Science and Sport: Modern Trends" on 8 February 2023 was included by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications (No. 1657 in the List) in the following groups of scientific specialties:
